Last year, we launched our first Ride to Conquer Cancer collection alongside a two-day, 200km ride for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The response was incredible. So, we’re doing it again.
The 2026 Ride to Conquer Cancer is on, with Matt Smith-Johnson once again leading our “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” team into the saddle for two days and 200 kilometers. To back the team this year, we’ve expanded the project to three pieces — all designed to support the cause and look good doing it.
The 2026 BOLDR Conquer Limited Edition Chronograph
For year two, we wanted to push the design further while keeping what worked the first time around. Mechanically and dimensionally, the watch is unchanged from the 2025 release — same 41mm titanium Venture case, 12.5mm thick, 46mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, same 200m of water resistance, screw-down crown, and flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Inside, the Seiko VK64 mechaquartz again — quartz accuracy with the snappy mechanical feel of a real chrono pusher.

Full Take

The narrative establishes a pattern where high-profile endurance challenges and luxury product branding are integrated to support a charitable cause. This approach leverages the emotional appeal of physical suffering and elite performance to drive participation and consumption. The event shifts from a singular ride to a broader, expanded project involving multiple products, suggesting a strategy to maximize engagement and revenue through tiered participation. The focus on historical continuity—keeping the watch design "unchanged" while repeating the event—functions to build brand loyalty and reinforce the idea of enduring commitment, aligning the physical act of endurance with the perceived endurance of the cause. The underlying implication is the commodification of altruism, where personal achievement and luxury goods serve as visible, marketable proxies for genuine charitable giving. The structure uses a heroic narrative (the ride, the leader) to package a transactional outcome (selling watches), reflecting a systemic tendency to merge moral imperatives with commercial goals.
